I asked a friend to describe elements of an artful life, he said music. Music that’s simple yet deep. Complex in how he is touched by it, yet it brings a satisfaction beyond words. It stays with him and adds to his appreciation of his life. Another friend spoke of the good things in his life-love, his family and health. For me, an artful life is composed of deep conversations, music, books, love and family, truth and beauty.

As an acupuncturist, I’m curious about the whole person and how we might restore the well-being of body and mind. The spirit of the approach that I learn from Kiiko Matsumoto and practitioners who work with her tradition and insights is one of curiosity and respect. I practice the art of acupuncture to restore and revive. I’m interested in the root of the problem, the heart of the matter.
